Multi-factor authentication in OnPay
With multi-factor login, a correct one-time code from a TOTP authentication app will be required each time you try to log in.
Enabling multi-factor authentication(MFA), can be done from the "my account" page when logged in at manage.onpay.io
Follow the steps below to setup MFA for your user profile.
1. Prepare app
You will need to install an authentication app on your device (phone/tablet). We recommend that the device with the MFA setup, is separate from the primary device/machine used to log into OnPay manage.
The app that you choose to install will need to support scanning QR codes or manually adding a generated secret to complete the setup.
We recommend the applications below, but any TOTP compliant application will do.
Authy Google Authenticator (Android) Google Authenticator (Apple)
Have you device ready at hand, for later in the process of setting up MFA.
2. My account
When logged in at manage.onpay.io, navigate to the "My account" page, by expanding the user menu in the top right of the page, and clicking the link to "My account".
3. MFA status
On the "My account" page, the current status of MFA is shown. If not already setup, a button for continuing setup will be shown below the status.
Click it to continue.
4. Configure authentication app
You will now be presented with a page, that walks through the setup of the authentication app previously installed.
Using the installed app from step 1, please scan the QR code (or manually enter the secret below it), to setup the app.
Notice: Completing setup of the app is not the final step in the process. Please continue to step 5.
Notice: Using the QR code or secret from the screenshot above, will not work to complete the setup.
5. Enter one-time code
You will now be able to see 6 digit generated codes in the authentication app. These codes will be valid for 30 seconds, and afterwards a new one will automatically be generated.
To complete the setup of MFA, please enter the current code from the app, in the input field in step 3 on the setup page, and click the big complete button below it.
Notice: If the code entered yields an error, please try again from step 4.
6. Examine MFA status
Upon successful setup of MFA, the status shown on the "My account" page should now look like this.
Congratulations! Your user profile is now secured with multi-factor authentication.
You will now be prompted for a one-time code from the app, every time you log into OnPay Manage.
