Wallets

A wallet is like a digital purse. You register your payment card with a wallet service, which makes payments with a virtual card that acts as an alias for the physical card.

Wallets are a secure way to pay online, as the transactions are encrypted and protected by a multitude of security policies in the app and during the payment process.

Examples of wallets are Google Pay and Apple Pay, which are used all over the world. In Denmark, the most commonly used wallet is MobilePay, where you register your physical card with them and then make payments by confirming via the MobilePay app.

Notice: To accept payments via a wallet service, an acquiring agreement is required. The agreement must cover the card type registered with the wallet service. However, a separate agreement with the wallet service is not required.
